Nikole Adele Rosaria Manieri
Nikole is an Community Arts-Based Educator, focused on community song, rhythm, movement and intention, rooted in place and lineage as liberatory practice. A scholar-practitioner in Applied Ethnomusicology and Arts-Based Anti-Oppression Education. She draws on her Ancestral community music traditions of Sicily and Southern Italy, the Tarantellas, and also the circle song traditions of women’s healing and Threshold-Keeping space.
During the Ohio growing season, you will find her in the herb garden, facilitating Singing Nettle HerbCrafters - a learning space for growing, harvesting, and crafting with herbs for our kitchen apothecaries, with an emphasis on building felt-sense relationships with the plants and local ecologies. Throughout the autumn and winter she leads ongoing community practice groups in community music, dream-tending, and anti-oppression arts-based education.
She is passionately invested in collaborations that are risking to seed new worlds amidst the decaying structures of an old paradigm.
Through Mandorla Arts LLC, you can find her teaching, consulting and performance offerings.
Cantastoria
Cantastoria is Italian for "story-singer" . There are many names for this across cultures. It is more about listening, than speaking.
May I hear the story-songs of heart and soul of this land and these times, and sing them humble and true.
